SOUTH OF 80 has been involved with local and national charities and non-for-profits since it's inception two years ago, and continues to donate their time and musical talents for worthy causes all over Chicago. Please keep an eye out for us at several of the following events throughout the year:
Gilda's Club Gilda's Club is a support community for men, women and children living with cancer, and family and friends. They offer a place where members can join together to give and receive support. Gilda's Club is a free, non-for-profit group with a nationwide reach. If you or someone you know is dealing with cancer, I highly encourage you to get involved with this community. SOUTH OF 80 partners with Gilda's club to entertain at several of their events around Chicago, most recently at the Park West Theatre for an annual fundraiser and at 'A New Leaf' for the annual Masked Ball.
St Jude's Children's Hospital Auxiliary Board hosts an annual black tie gala called "Under The Harvest Moon" every year. The goal is to raise funds to assist in the daily operating costs of the hospital, to increase awareness of St. Jude in the Chicago area, and to create an exciting environment where young professionals can gather. SOUTH OF 80 has been involved with this event for the past two years, and are excited about the opportunity to be a part of the event again this year. For more information, please visit the St Jude Auxiliary Board's web site, or contact the band directly.
The Shedd Aquarium The Shedd Aquarium has always been regarded as a world class aquarium, with people coming from all over the world to visit the hundreds of exhibits every year. Raising money for it's 40 million+ budget is a full time job, and their annual Shark Ball is one of their biggest fundraisers of the year. SOUTH OF 80 donated it's time and talents to the event this year, and look forward to being invited back again this year. |
